I’ve done a lot of things. I started with a degree in classical music composition, and free lanced as a jazz and rock recording engineer. I built recording studios for a while, then settled at a high-end audio company and got my Master’s in Electrical Engineering. I had a long career working in high tech as an engineer and project manager, designing products and running big, high stress projects with tight schedules.
And life happened. My parents got older, and my sister was diagnosed with mental illness. I was running as fast as I could at my job while caring for them, waking up scared each morning with a knot in my stomach, anxious about what new crises the work day would bring and going to bed each night worried about how to care for my family.
Fortunately, along the way I’ve picked up some tools for living. I’ve practiced meditation and Iyengar Yoga for over 25 years. I am trained in the healing arts of Reiki and Jin Shin Jyutsu. And I have followed my love of meditation by teaching Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) after qualifying at the Center for Mindfulness at University of Massachusetts Medical.
I left the corporate world because I wanted to spend my time doing things that brought joy to my life and peace to the world. I know what it feels like to live with stress, worry and anxiety. Offering Jin Shin Jyutsu and teaching Mindfulness gives me a chance to help others find the calm spot in the center of the storm.
